Optical Systems

Teko Telecom Optical Systems are flexible multi-band multi-operator systems that can solve any coverage and/or capacity need, due to the easy adaptation to any band, output power and network topology, regardless of protocol or modulation.

Optical Systems are based on the Radio over Fibre (RoF) technology, which enables radio signals transmission over optical fibres. This technology offers wide bandwidth and very little loss along the fiber optic cable, allowing the signals to be propagated over long distances.
These characteristics, combined with the negligible dimension of the fiber optic cables, allow Teko Telecom Optical Systems to provide a cost-effective solution
for the coverage of both extensive areas and challenging environments, such as:

large outdoor areas,
long tunnels,
undergrounds,
airports,
convention centers,
high-rise buildings.

Teko Telecom Optical Systems are obtained by proper combination of the components of Sirius, our multi-technology scalable platform, so they can be easily expanded, upgraded or integrated into existing solutions, thus enabling an optimized investment planning.

Architecture

Teko Telecom Optical Systems are made up of two main parts:

Sirius Master Unit, a versatile modular rack-based platform interfacing the signal source, and

Sirius Remote Units, compact Units distributing wireless signals throughout the area to be covered.

Master Unit and Remote Units are connected via single mode optical fibres (SMR 9/125).

The Master Unit is configured to provide both the RF interface (off-air and/or via coaxial cable) towards the signal source (BTS, Node B, Repeater) and the optical interface towards Remote Units. It also hosts the Supervision Module for the management of the entire System: a PC connected to the IP address of the System Supervision Module, allows easy local and remote control of the whole System.
